3 p.m. Campus phone service has been restored.

11:30 a.m. We are currently experiencing problems with Occidental's campus phone system.

An update on our efforts to help alleviate the overnight discomfort created by this latest heat wave.

With an excessive heat warning in effect in Los Angeles through Labor Day weekend, we want to make sure all students—particularly those living in residence halls without air conditioning—are aware of the resources available to them to help keep cool.

10:03 p.m. Power has now been fully restored to all buildings on campus.

9 a.m. Friday’s late-night 4.5-magnitude earthquake, centered near South San Gabriel approximately 12 miles east of campus, caused no damage and no interruption of services at Occidental.

4 p.m. While the California brushfires currently in the news pose no threat to the Occidental College campus and surrounding neighborhoods, smoke from a local fire has affected campus air quality.

2:40 p.m. An update on the California fires and their minimal impact on the Occidental campus and Eagle Rock neighborhood.
