The web sites at Occidental College web site are provided to facilitate the exchange of information and the delivery of services among students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the College community.
Occidental College is committed to ensuring the privacy and accuracy of your confidential information to the extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law. Other than as required by laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information, or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize access, personally identifiable information is not actively shared. In particular, we do not re-distribute or sell personal information collected on our web servers.

Automatically Collected Information
When someone accesses Occidental College web sites, certain technical information is automatically collected. Occidental’s use of this information allows us to analyze trends and statistics to improve our Web site and your Web experience, and to troubleshoot problems. Personal Information

When information is entered to complete a transaction, that information is only used for that transaction. Children Under Age 13
Occidental College does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. In the event that the College learns that it has collected any personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, it will delete that information. Third Party Services
On behalf of Occidental College, third parties may provide certain services available on the College’s web sites. Occidental College may provide information, including personal information, collected on the web to third-party service providers to help us deliver programs, products, information and services. Service providers are also an important means by which Occidental College maintains its web site and mailing lists. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that these third-party service providers are obligated to protect personal information on our behalf.

If you wish to review or change information gathered about you via an official Occidental College web site but you do not know how, the College Helpdesk will assist in locating the persons responsible for that site so that you may make your request directly to them.
